Will everyone be a gig worker in the future? With the rise of the gig economy it is becoming all the more common for people to take on several freelance gigs as opposed to looking for permanent employment. I have been an active part of the gig economy for the past nine years, starting my own company right out of university instead of looking for a traditional job. Today, I am an advocate for work life flexibility and a strong believer of that all the more people will turn to become ‘giggers’ in the future. That’s why it’s becoming all the more important for companies to have a gig strategy in place.

Why groups rule the social media landscape
Rather than post updates visible to everyone it’s becoming all the more common for people to interact in groups on social media. In Sweden, the national study “The Swedes and the Internet 2018” (Svenskarna och Internet 2018) shows that Groups are the second most common reason why we choose to be active on Facebook today. I’m therefore not surprised that Facebook has chosen to launch their ‘Community Leadership Circle’ initiative to help local group admins come together to create a positive impact on society.

Today I had the honor to be part of the editorial team at Webbdagarna in Stockholm for the third time, getting a front-row seat to the headline speakers at Sweden’s largest event for digital business. I thought to summarize my key-takeaways and learnings from day one, since new ideas are always key to succeeding and staying on top in a digital world.
Co-working and digital nomads – my favorite spaces in Stockholm
I was asked to feature in Coworkingpodden, Sweden’s new podcast about co-working by Martin Ericsson, to talk about digital nomads, the gig economy and location-independent work. Co-working has grown immensely in Sweden during the past years, and especially in Stockholm. As a freelancer I often find myself working from different co-working spaces around the city, meeting with people and attending talks and workshops.
The future of the internet – breakfast talk with Akamai and Tom Leighton
Last week, I had the opportunity to take part in a breakfast talk together with Dr. Tom Leighton, the CEO and co-founder of Akamai, as well as some of the brightest minds within digital and the internet in Sweden today. The focus of the talk was on cyber security, online behavior, internet traffic and where the internet is headed next.
