This spring, I’m stepping into the role of Communications and Community Manager at Frilans Finans, to help enable a more flexible working life for more people. A gig that resonates with my personally, as I’m also celebrating 15 years as a freelancer this year.
Frilans Finans is Sweden’s largest umbrella employment company, and has made it possible for over 100,000 freelancers to invoice without having their own company. From students and retirees looking to work a few extra hours, to those testing a new business idea or career path, to people pursuing their passion alongside a regular job – or full-time freelancers who simply want to skip the hassle of running their own company.
I’ve long worked with questions around the future of work and have studied how we’re moving away from the 9-to-5 and the gold watch as a standard. At the same time, research shows that project-based work is on the rise, and that more people will be freelancing in the years to come. But maybe not everyone needs to start a company?
When society shifts, many pieces have to fall into place to create a sustainable working life for more people. That’s why I’m especially excited and proud to work with community and communication in an organization that impacts so many freelancers.
There are plenty of ideas already – from creating valuable exchanges between freelancers, to engaging activities, to enabling different types of networks. And on top of that, we have an entire office on Gamla Brogatan in Stockholm available for events and co-working. All of this together with an amazing team of new colleagues.
Curious to exchange ideas about freelancing or the future of work? Want to collaborate? I’m excited to see where this journey will take us ☀️
