We, Emelie Fågelstedt and Rasmus Solholm, started Freelance Mornings out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for the Stockholm based freelance community. The concept is simple: breakfast and a short talk one morning a month. Every event is free of charge and open to anyone.
How can VR/AR/XR inspire children and young people to pursue studies and careers in tech?
I am excited to announce that I am starting a new project as digital strategist for Region Sörmland, working on the concept Modda Sörmland – Sweden’s first digi-physical science center. The concept combines physical and digital activities with the help of Extended Reality (XR) to encourage more young people to pursue education in technology, science, and math.
In a few years time we’ll go to work in the Metaverse. Or will we? This new space, this merge of different technologies, is on the rise. The use of VR technologies, immersive digital worlds and avatars that meet, speak and collaborate. We’re just in the beginning of the development of what will be the future of the internet. Exploring what the space could be used for: entertainment, meetings, conferences. But also training, product development and virtual offices.
A study released in Harvard Business Review shows that in 2022 more women than men have asked for more flexibility to work remotely post-Covid-19. This could mean women risk falling behind in the workplace, as another study shows that remote workers have a 50% lower rate of promotion.
